In Pontevecchio W, the Florentine Iris is once again the protagonist of the fragrance but in a delightfully feminine expression. Caterina de' Medici skilfully wore perfumes on his gloves and on his body: in this way he avoided the smells of other people, who did not wash regularly in those days. This gesture of his was invented by Renato Bianco (or, as he was called by the French: René le Florentin), her personal and trusted perfumer who followed her to the court in France after her marriage.
